Our Evening at The Launch Party of Femme Magazine Autumn Issue

Femme Magazine

Kevin and I were invited by the lovely Bronte Mitchell the creator of Femme Magazine to the Autumn issue launch party.  For those not in the know, Femme is a country fashion and lifestyle magazine based in North Yorkshire.

The launch event was held in York and the venue selected by Femme magazine to host the party was Fancy Hanks. This turned out to be a super choice as the atmosphere and surroundings provided by this recently opened bar and kitchen run by two brothers was fabulous. The description on their website reads, “tucked away in the laid-back streets of the historic Minster Quarter and offers good mood food inspired by the two brothers travels through the 11 states of America’s deep south”. Let me say that the premises surpassed expectations and I would heartily recommend it for anyone who fancy’s a cocktail or two and or food for an evening out in York.

On arrival we were greeted by the gorgeous Bronte and handed a cocktail that I can’t remember the name of, however do remember it contained gin and prosecco, although in Kevin’s case (the designated driver), a mocktail.

The venue itself has a lovely, modern rustic and intimate feel to it, with vibrant paintings, plenty of wood and a lovely outside terrace that sparkled with fairy lights which added a magical romantic feel.

The evening was a mixture of mingling and chatting with Bronte’s parents, friends and other people who like ourselves are fortunate to be working with Bronte.

The evening was also being hosted by the very charismatic Scott Henshall, who features in the magazine to raise the profile of his new cashmere range with Lady Victoria Hervey.  Scott was delightful and we could have chatted to him all evening.  You can find him on instagram @scott_henshall.

Mulberry Tree at Home Feature Femme Magazine Autumn 2019

We were very excited on the evening to have a sneak peek at the Autumn issue, and see our piece in print, although there was too much conversation to be had to read it in full, so the next day I brewed myself a coffee and read it cover to cover.

We met and spoke to so many wonderful people, and many of them can be found on Instagram, so please do give them a follow:

The incredibly talented jeweller Mark Lloyd and his lovely wife Michelle @mark.lloyd_jewellery.  Mark makes such beautiful bespoke pieces.

Charlotte, @themardyyorkshirelass who contributes to the magazine and has a feature in the Autumn issue.

@theyorkshirepartridge, the go to account for places of interest, and eating out in Yorkshire

@theyorknewbie, who details her life in York

@wildandwestbrooke, is a family run ladies country clothing store in York with so many fabulous brands.  They are also a stockist of Femme Magazine.

@vantageatelier, who hand-make tailored skirts, and whose houndstooth skirt graced the front cover and is now high on my wishlist.

Last but certainly not least Femme Magazine can be found @femmemagzinee.  We are delighted to have worked with Bronte and be featured in this issue, and if you don’t already buy it then I would highly recommend that you do.
