Our Day at The InstaMingle
As business owners and for personal improvement, we believe that you can never stop learning, so with this in mind on Saturday 22nd June 2019 I headed off to the Insta Mingle event hosted by instagrammers, Kirsty from @greenbankinteriors, Helen from @homely_rose and Becky from @boos_home.
The event was aimed at supporting influencers, and small businesses and to help them achieve their Instagram goals.
I had been to a previous instamingle event hosted by Kirsty and Helen back in December, however this was to be a much larger and more structured full day affair
The event was held at the 1539 Restaurant in Chester City Centre, right next to Chester's famous Roodee Racecourse.
Unfortunately for me on this particular day, there were no horses to be seen, however so much else was in store.
The morning began with coffee and pastries, clearly they had thought about priorities, and food and drink was high on the list.
We were then asked to take our seats and so with pen and notebook in hand, I rapidly took notes from the talks given by Kirsty, and Becky, who provided a wealth of expertise and useful tips from their respective Instagram journeys. We then had the pleasure of listening to Rachel from @theordinarylovely, who spoke knowledgeably on how small businesses should use Instagram and how we should also be using other platforms, and our own websites to maximise online opportunities.
As the morning ended we headed off to the fabulous (and I do mean fabulous) outdoor terrace at 1539 Restaurant, for lunch, and a course a chance for plenty of conversation and reflection on the morning sessions.
After a most enjoyable lunch we were introduced to Holly and Kat of @weblognorth, who have between them built a community for northern content creators and have a membership group.
Following this was a workshop, presented by the lovely Laurie and Maxine from the Secret Styling Club. Between them, these ladies know everything there is to know about interior design and styling, and they passed on their tips, tricks and some insights into the latest interior design trends.
Last but not least, we heard from the brands that were sponsoring the event, starting with @turtle_mat, @oliviamayltd, @makemyblinds.co.uk, and John Lewis and Partners. We found out more about the people behind the brands, and also for anyone looking to be one of their Brand Ambassadors, they imparted useful advice on what they would look for.
Before I knew it, it was 4 O’Clock and time for tea and cake, and another opportunity to chat to some of the lovely ladies who had attended. This was swiftly followed by the raffle, which contained some fabulous prizes. We had donated, our horseshoe tray and our horseshoe tealight holder which were were won by @chocolatefallsx and @fionarosehq.
All too soon, the daytime element was over, and those who were attending this part headed home. For those of us fortunate enough to be staying for the evening we headed off again to the terrace bar this time for nibbles and prosecco, which were enjoyed in glorious sunshine. The next few hours were very bubbly, both from the prosecco and with the wonderful ladies I was fortunate enough to chat to.
All too soon it was time to head home, armed with loads of useful knowledge, a goody bag and most importantly having had the opportunity to meet some wonderful and inspirational ladies. #whatawonderfulday
