Getting to Know Harry Hall and our Partnership with their One Club

 Harry Hall One Club Logo

We have been members of the Harry Hall One Club for about a year now and have built up a personal and professional relationship with Georgie Starkey and Harry Hall.

Harry Hall has been a supporter of the highs and lows of the equestrian journey that I share on my instagram page @the_mulberry_tree_lifestyle.  It was natural for us to want Mulberry Tree at Home to partner with Harry Hall and be part of their One Club membership benefits.

So we caught up with Georgie to find out more about Harry Hall and the One Club.

Tell us about yourself, and your role within Harry Hall

Georgie Starkey

Hello! My name is Georgie and I look after the social media accounts and One Club community at Harry Hall.

I’ve ridden since I can remember, and horses have always been part of my life so to work for Harry Hall (my first pair of jodhpurs and riding boots were Harry Hall!) is quite surreal.

I wrote to them over three years ago, essentially begging for a job and a year, three interviews and numerous coffee meetings later I walked into the Harry Hall office for my first day. I’ve been there for two years now and love it. Most of the team own or ride regularly so it’s 100% true when we say the products are developed by horse riders for horse riders.

We often test products before they come to market and it might not surprise you to hear there are two life-size, fake horses in our reception! No two days are the same and I can be in the office one day writing social media content and, on a photo shoot, the next. I’ve also had some great days out in the company of Princess Anne thanks to our charity partner World Horse Welfare, and trips to Badminton and Burghley are now for work purposes! I still pinch myself about that.

 Tell us about Harry Hall

The Harry Hall name is iconic when it comes to the equestrian world. I think the first riding hat or pair of joddies people had were almost always Harry Hall and it’s something we love about the brand.

How many brands can say their customers have been with them for over 60 years in many cases? A lot of people still don’t realise that other well-known equestrian brands also sit under the Harry Hall umbrella. We’re home to Masta rugs (and the therapy range Protechmasta), Caldene, Tottie, Woofmasta and Cottage Craft. We aim to be the go-to online equestrian department store where you can get everything but a saddle and horseshoes!

In 2017 we launched our first insurance product and have gone on to launch a vet fees cover with an option of adding a colic cover and two types of trailer insurance. More on that later!

Tell us about the Harry Hall team

The team at Harry Hall are passionate, hard-working and equestrians through and through. Even the ones that don’t come from a horsey background could now tell you the difference between canter and counter canter and the difference between a browband and a bridle headpiece!

It’s a lovely team to work in and could be compared to being down at the yard, as you learn so much about horses and horse riding as part of working here, I can safely say every day is a school day. We aim to make horse riding as affordable and accessible to all as possible so we’re always on the lookout for ways to do this and constantly flinging new ideas around.

What is the Harry Hall One Club?

The One Club launched in 2017 to provide affordable riding insurance to horse owners and riders in the UK. It is also an equestrian community that provides a safe space for members to discuss their beloved horses all while benefiting from up to 30% off products all year round with free delivery for One Club Gold members.

One Club Bronze members benefit from product discounts and exclusive offers but without the insurance element. There is something for everyone!

We’ve started producing a member’s magazine which goes out twice a year and every month we feature a member’s story on our website. The One Club is all about the members, in our eyes, they’re all fabulous and we enjoy chatting to them, getting to know their horses and the products we like. In a world where chatbots are taking over, you can be assured that you’re talking to a person at the other end of our live chat and on our Facebook page.

Can you outline the benefits of customers joining the One Club

When you join the One Club you have a choice of two levels of membership:

One Club Gold (including a family option) and One Club Bronze. Our Gold level membership includes public liability and personal accident insurance, up to 30% off products all year round and free delivery. The Bronze membership is for shoppers, and they benefit from year-round product savings and free delivery on a basket over £50. You can find out more here.

But in our eyes, we want people to feel like they’re joining for more than product savings and insurance products. We want them to feel part of a supportive equestrian community, somewhere they can come to get positivity and encouragement. We love bumping into members at events and it was so lovely to have so many members come to our stand at Your Horse Live last year and chat to us. It’s where I also met Sharon from Mulberry Tree at Home in person for the first time. Putting a face to a name is just the best thing!

Mulberry Tree at Home have partnered with the Harry Hall One Club. Can you explain the benefits for other businesses who may consider doing the same.

As part of our membership offering, we link up with other equestrian-themed companies and offer our members discounts on their products. We try to select unique products, ones you wouldn’t necessarily find on the high street.

Once a company is a part of our partnership scheme they get featured in emails, social media posts, on our website with a link to their site and a mention in the member's magazine. It’s essentially free advertising for businesses and an easy way to reach potential new customers via four different channels.
