Tell us a bit about you

Lucy outside her beautiful country cottage

I live in Oxfordshire in England, it's a very rural and beautiful area full of lovely walks, nature and wildlife. We moved here for peace and quiet as well as our love and connection to nature.

Tell us about your home

Currently, we are living in a very old 15th-century cottage that used to be part of a manor house (this fell down many years ago). It's built with traditional Cotswold stone and has a pretty purple wisteria growing across the front.

How would you describe your home?

I would describe our style as rustic, beautiful antiques and country meets the modern world. We love kitchen appliances (KitchenAid etc) but then have a bookshelf of very old and antique books we collect.

Which is your favourite room in the house?

It isn't a room but my garden, I love being outside and enjoying the front of the cottage. It's peaceful and allows me to enjoy nature and switch off from the business of technology and day to day living.

Is there anything in your home that you couldn’t live without?

My plants! I just love nature and plants they are so perfect for so many reasons. Some plants provide us with food and nourishment whilst others enjoyment and beautiful blooms that look wonderful in any room. Alongside this, I wouldn't be able to live without my cats that are very much a large part of my home.

They say that every home tells visitors a story about who lives there. What do you think your home says about you?

I would say ours shows we love wildlife and nature, we like to leave the odd weed in the flowerbed to allow insects and wildlife to enjoy it whilst we have ants and bees living in the stonework out the front that in turn brings in some incredible birds. We have house martins and all manner of life around us and feel so lucky and fortunate to be living here at the moment. We are very real and realistic with our home and I don't like to do anything that isn't us which is reflected on my socials.
