Tell us about you
My name is Dannielle, I am a twenty nine year old Nurse. I live in Yorkshire and would not want to live anywhere else. I live with my partner Matthew and our chihuahua Evie. We live in beautiful small village on the edge of Doncaster and Rotherham.
Tell us about your home
Our home was built in the 1960’s and a builder originally built this for himself and his family. We are the third owners of the home and the last family lived here for 32 years. We have changed a lot in the house and the previous family have visited since we extended.
How would you describe your home?
Our home style is very much modern country style. We love the country farmhouse style but with a modern twist. Such as our Belfast sink, shaker kitchen cupboards but with a marble style quartz worktop to give a modern twist. The patterned tiles we have in our hallway and bathroom is another element of a country style. Along with the panelling throughout. I love neutrals and feel that having neutral walls allows colours to be added with textures such as cushions, rugs etc.
Which is your favourite room in the house?
Our extension. It is a kitchen, dining room and snug all in one and we love it. Its all-open plan and is a great place for socialising. So much so that we now never use our living room at the front.
How does your home reflect any passions or interests?
Our home reflects our personalities and interests with the neutral farmhouse style and our country garden.
What are your favourite items in the home?
Favourite item is probably our Belfast sink. It is literally the sink of dreams and I have manifested this for so long. Also the bifold doors because our view is just amazing.
When you moved into your house was it the finished article or was it a project?
A project.
What renovation and decorating have you done?
We have had an extension on the front of the house and on the back of the house. Along with putting in another bathroom and a utility. We also knocked through one of the bathrooms to make it a larger room and had a new bathroom suite. We have had new windows throughout and bifold doors along with new 1930s style oak doors throughout the house.
I haven’t learnt any skills because we have had workmen do everything. However, Matt has learnt how to panel and literally can do anything.
Have you had any DIY or styling disasters?
The panelling in our bedroom is not done very well. It was our first time trying panelling and it’s not the best.
What is your top home styling tip?
Neutral bases and incorporate colours and textures.
Is there anything in your home that you couldn’t live without?
Matt and Evie! Or the dryer!
They say that every home tells visitors a story about who lives there. What do you think your home says about you?
Our home shows that we love to entertain and that we love interiors. It probably also shows that I have a vase addiction haha!!

If you could only paint your walls one colour, which one would it be?
